My mom always predicted I would get into the medical field. When people are sick, when people are down, I'm not one to shy away. I think it's important to be nurturing and show others that people care. It turns out that mothers do know best. My decision to enter the medical field and to become a Physician's Assistant has been one of the most rewarding decisions I've ever made.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a fascination with skin. When I was about 3 years old, a cat scratched my face which left a scar that I have grown to love. Since then, I've enjoyed hearing people's stories about their scars. When I entered my adolescent years and pimples broke out on myself or others, I was right there to pop them, for better or for worse. My friends laugh at me for my obsession with skin. In that regard, my decision to specialize in dermatology was kind of a no-brainer. I was first a student at Dr. Jacobs office, where I fell in love with the dermatology specialty. I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to become a trained Dermatology Physician's Assistant at Dr. Jacobs office and a part of their team!
Your skin is the largest organ of your body and the first thing people notice about you, so I understand how important it is to feel your absolute best. My approach to medicine is very hands-on and I want patients to feel comfortable discussing all their skin concerns and conditions. I also strive to ensure that patients have an strong understanding of their conditions and the necessary steps needed to treat them. Can't wait to meet ya'll.
