Is it painful?
30 minutes prior to your laser treatment, on the areas to be treated, Dr. Jacobs would like you to apply an over the counter topical anesthetic called LMX 5%.  Patients may complain of mild pain, which includes slight rubberband- like snapping or stinging sensations.  LMX 5% minimizes this discomfort and makes your laser therapy much more pleasant and tolerable.  You can prepare ahead of time.  Pick up a tube of LMX 5% at our office or at the pharmacy before your appointment.
