My name is Donna Hastert, P.A.C. and I’ve specialized as a dermatology physician assistant for more than six years.
As a dermatology physician assistant, I assist Dr. Jacobs with dermatology patients. I work very closely with Dr. Jacobs and am able to treat a variety of basic skin problems sun damaged skin, rashes, and skin growths. I can do beta left skin peels, and leg vein sclerotherapy. I also provide skin cancer screenings, and can remove questionable skin lesions. If a person needs kin testing, I can take skin biopsies, check skin cultures, order helpful blood tests, and thus, I work as a member of Dr. Jacobs’ dermatology “team.” Dr. Jacobs and I are in continuous communication, and his guidance is always available for each dermatology patient I see.
I’d like to share a little bit about my background. I was born in Detroit, and grew up in Southern California Educationally, after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Physician Assistant Studies from California State University Dominguez Hills, I received a Physician Assistant Certification fro Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona. I first trained in primary care medicine, but later specialized in dermatology. I maintain my certification by completing 100 hours of Continuing Medical Education every two years. I am a Member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the California Academy of Physician Assistants.
On a personal note, I am a single mom with two college age daughters. My favorite hobbies include reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
My purpose is to assist you to the best of my abilities, under Dr. Jacobs’ supervision, as we treat our dermatology patients. I welcome your visit should you choose to see me. Listening, caring, and communication are three of the most important actions in any workday. And, I want you to know that I am always there to help you with your skin problems. Together, Dr. Jacobs and I can help make your skin more healthy and more comfortable to live in.
